In February 2025, Magee General Hospital broke ground on its $4 million renovation project. Now, three months into the project, exciting improvements have taken shape.
The renovation, which includes a new operating room, boardroom, patient registration area and several cosmetic improvements throughout the facility, has been broken up into several phases, with the new OR being first.
Codaray Construction is hard at work on this first phase, which was strategically broken into two sections. This was done so that normal operations could resume in the first half of the renovated OR while the second half was being completed.
Throughout the past week they installed electrical outlets and panels, completed HVAC work, finished up ceiling work, installed ceiling tiles and completed the installation of fire alarms.
Construction in this first half of the OR is expected to be completed in mid-June.
Work also recently began on another portion of the renovation, the boardroom. This area has been and will continue to be blocked off while work is being completed. Stay tuned for more updates about this area.
Thank you for your patience as we work as efficiently as possible to complete this project.
